winterfell
Oh it is ON. Welcome to town, December! Pleased to see ya round these parts again.
Exactly one year ago we were packing our bags for a whirlwind traipse across the States to see friends and family in Chicago/San Francisco/Los Angeles/Seattle. It was magnificent.
But I’m looking forward to a quiet, cozy Christmas at home this year.
Are any of you traveling to/from distant lands to be with your family for the holidays?
My wife and I are thankful that all of our family lives within a two and a half hour drive from us! Merry Christmas!
Wow, that’s quite a feat in the 21st century! Have a wonderful time with them. (:
Our son has to work on Christmas, so we’ll be traipsing from Boston to Brooklyn, for a few days of hipster merriment, whatever that is… people in Santa caps riding through the snow on their homemade bamboo bicycles, I suppose. I have to say, either you’re a great photographer or a skilled interior designer–every time I stop by your blog I can’t help thinking how cozy your place looks. Have a great holiday. Ken
Try to catch a picture of said hipster bamboo bicycle…that sounds very apt, actually! Have fun! (And as far as skills go, I am a skilled scrounger of second-hand nonsense. That’s about it.)
We celebrate Sinterklaas with my Dutch in-laws (who live around the corner) and Christmas with my Czech family (who are 800 km away). Depending on the amount of snow in Germany, the journey can be 8 hours or a lot more. Merry Christmas!
How clever to split it up that way! We did a Sint AND Santa party this year, to get a little bromance brewing between the two. It was so fun — kerstlunch en daarna kadootjes en snoepjes. (:
